Meme Lordz Development Update #3
Hello & welcome to Meme Lordz Development Update number 3!!!
We have been making big strides in the development this past week and we are excited to share our progress with you below.
The past week, we have been continuing to code our unique battle system, fleshing out more parts of the map, music composition, battle UI & more.
Map Progress & Music:
Here is a small demo of a placeholder character exploring the central Meme -Stream area. Accompanying the walkthrough is some original music from our inhouse Meme Lordz music composer & we couldn’t be happier with the retro synth-wave vibe coming through.
The training section & exiled camps just north of the Meme Stream will provide an area to capture your first Meme Lord and investigate the cave systems where Meme Shards are mined from.
Below we also share a preview of some building interiors which are looking incredible!
User Interface:
Our user interface has been finalized & is now being implemented into the battle system as it is finished being coded. The colour scheme and design of the UI have been finessed to incorporate a classy combination of minimal modern & retro pixel styles.
Each attack (move) in our game has been assigned 1 of 14 types, each with unique move icons & abilities. Its been quite the task creating 100’s of individual moves, designing move icons & marrying it all up to look this clean. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
During battle, one must select moves from both the active Meme Lord & an additional move from a party member. Along with swapping out your active Meme Lord, the mini party menu ensures unimpeded combat & quick changes.
Whats Next?
This week our primary goal is finishing the battle system. Once this is complete we can begin balancing and fine tuning the Meme Lordz stats, move stats & typing matchups; which are an incredibly important part of the game.
The completion of the battle system will mark a major milestone in the development, with all core system being done at that point. From their, we power towards the beta with little in our way but balancing, importing the rest of the map, importing NPC dialogue & polishing exiting areas.
The next development update should feature some more gameplay videos with battle previews & more.
Community & Marketing:
We would like to thank our wonderful community for the continued support through our development cycle. We continually search and negotiate with big gaming YouTube channels to secure partnerships to hype the game release & preview our alpha version on streams.
We have some ongoing competitions run by our community manager Bill Gates, please join our telegram for more information.
Until next time, thankyou for reading.
